I use it for recreation mostly, on travel, camping and so on... I was researching for some time to get something with strong magnification but affordable. This one came with tripod (tripod can be used but at high zoom hard to keep it stable), excellent hard box and OK soft bag. Scope itself looks good and I was amazed with quality of the images it delivered even on cloudy day. It delivers a good quality picture even with max zoom. I am new to this line of product and may be wrong but I think that limitations that I have with this scope are due to unstable tripod and distortion from rising hot air which would be a limiting factor with any scope. I am no professional but I do expect all my gadgets to perform well and this one is no exception. In my opinion: it is an excellent light wight budget scope.

At the shooting range I tried to zoom from 20 to 40 power and the eyepiece fell off. Noting that it was a threaded piece, I tried to screw it back on and found that the threads were stripped. I got it back on just tight enough to use the 20 power it was set on, but the locking mechanisms were not adequate. The least bit of pressure would move it off course. I could not tighten it enough to lock it in place.

Good Spotting scope for the money. Needs a stronger/steadier bipod. Hard to see when wearing glasses.

This scope is what we needed to watch our bird feeder located in the yard from our house on piling. It gives a very clear view of how much bird seed is in the feeder on minimum zoom.

I use the Tasco Spotting Scope to zero my rifle at the shooting range from 100yds. I'm not very familiar with these kinds of scopes, this is my first. However, I can see a pinhole in the targets with no problem. So, I'm very pleased with it because it does everything I want it to do for a lot less money than other scopes on the market.

            Customer Q & A

Q1: Can i use other standard tripods on his scope if wanted?

A: Yes.   The center screw on the mount is a universal size and will mount on most standard camera tripods.
