The Leupold® Mark 4™ 12-40x 60mm is a truly incredible spotting scope and the scope most ideally suited for use as part of a sniper team. Its resolution and brightness are on par with the best classic European 65mm refractors, but in a package about a third smaller and lighter. The folding optical design gives you a scope that begs to be taken everywhere and delivers views that leave nothing to be desired.
Leupold's folded light path technology allows high magnification in a lightweight, compact package. You can estimate range at any power setting, and Multicoat 4® lens coatings ensure maximum light transmission, brightness, clarity, and contrast. This tactical spotting scope weighs just 37 ounces and is 12.4 inches long. Although sized for portability, it is built to withstand the most difficult field conditions. It is nitrogen-filled and sealed with Leupold's own proven sealing technology for total waterproof integrity. Armor coating provides the additional protection needed for rugged field use.
A soft-side case comes standard with the tactical spotting scope. Form-fitting and fully padded, the case is designed to allow easy access to all critical parts of the spotting scope, even during use. A detachable shoulder strap enhances ease of transportation. This tactical spotting scope has a universal 1/4 x 20 thread tripod attachment.
The Mark 4 12-40 x 60mm Tactical Spotting Scope features a Leupold Mil Dot reticle for both range estimation and tactical cooperation with the shooter. It's the same proven reticle available in Mark 4 riflescopes. The Mil Dot reticle is designed to help the U.S. Marine Corps estimate distances and is now standard for all military branches. With its range-estimating function in the spotting scope, the Mil Dot reticle assists in tactical cooperation with the shooter. The user can estimate range at any of the spotting scope's power settings.
A special package of features is also available, designed to help military and law enforcement sniper teams operate with peak efficiency in even the most difficult conditions. The tactical spotting scope has the variable power and optical properties that allow a spotter to work as one with the shooter. It is also important to note that this scope is constructed for reliable performance in any situation. Full lifetime warranty.
From humble immigrant beginnings, Leupold grew, based on a promise of quality, to become a classic American company. In 1907, Fred Leupold set up a one-man shop at 5th and Oak streets in Portland, Ore., to repair surveying equipment. He was joined by his brother-in-law, Adam Voelpel, and later by inventor John Cyprian Stevens, and the foundations for a century of success were in place.
During Leupold's second half-century, the company has focused heavily on the sports optics business. Leupold's presence in the hunting and shooting market expands, and finally dominates, with innovative optics and features that are now legendary among hunters, shooters, and outdoors enthusiasts. Many of the industry's standards - nitrogen waterproofing, the Duplex® reticle, and more - are Leupold creations.
