Comments about Celestron Ultima 100 22-66x100 Spotting Scope:
A valued yet well crafted spotting scope.
It has enough zoom power and has very good light gathering ability even in a low light condition. At maximum zoom (at 67X), the view in the scope is still bright enough to see an object in detail with a minimal lose of focus.
The weight at 4.5lb is not bad for its size and capability. It comes with a convenient nylon carrying bag.

Comments about Celestron Ultima 100 22-66x100 Spotting Scope:
after doing a little research i decided on this scope very satisfied with the performance . at the 300 yard range targets are very clear , was surprised by the actual size (this is not for a backpack)however on a good tripod images are very crisp at long distances, very good lunar viewing also .

Everything is great except for the large lens cap, it's not tight enough and falls off a lot.

Comments about Celestron Ultima 100 22-66x100 Spotting Scope:
I used the scope to watch harbor seals breathe at possibly 200-300 hundred yards. It is bright and clear and focuses well. It would benefit from a steadier mount. With the adapter, it works fine for digi-scoping with my DSLR cameras.

Comments about Celestron Ultima 100 22-66x100 Spotting Scope:
Use the scope mainly for wildlife observation in the open space beyond back yard. The other day kids and I observed a Red-Tailed Hawk lunching on a rabbit on a tree limb at about 100+ yards - the hawk and prey nearly filled the field of view at full zoom - clear, bright, and very "detailed".
After reading user reviews of various scopes, I selected the Celestron Ultima 100, and am happy with the purchase - it is what I expected. The scope is a little heavy for the Zhumell Professional tripod I ordered, but workable with good balancing, and if viewing on a fairly level plane.
The only Con right now is the slight grinding noise the zoom eyepiece makes when rotating, so am not sure if that is normal or something to worry about.
All in all, good product for the price.

Q1: Is a camera adapter availible for this scope?
A: The great thing about this scope is that it is camera ready. It has a built in T-Mount. All you will need is the correct T-Ring for your camera.
Q2: Does this scope accept alternate eyepieces?
A: No, I'm sorry but this scope only comes with a fixed zoom eyepiece that cannot be removed.
Q3: If you want to use a camera with this scope does it matter if you get the straight or angled body?
A: It doesn't matter which application, they both will produce the same quality of image.
