Q1: What is the difference between this model being wide field of view as opposed to the higher 10x50 or higher models of being wide angle? I am interested in bird watching, hunting, viewing animals at about a mile or so away in detail, but also having a wide field of view.
A: With binoculars the higher the magnification the smaller the field of View at 1000yds. (Similar to a Flashlight beam) With a Wide angle what they have done is positioned the prisms inside the binoculars to give a larger field of view than you would normally have in a binocular of the same magnification. For the farther the distance you are viewing the higher the magnification that you will want but the higher you go the more shaky the image becomes. So for long distance viewing you may want to consider more of a spotting scope.
Q2: How much do these binoculars weigh?
A: They weigh 30.1 oz.
