Q1: I thought roof prism binoculars were considered of lower quality than porro prism binoculars. If that is true, why they are used in such an expensive model?
A: Hello Dimitris, Thank you for your email. It is USUALLY the case that porro prisms are brighter than roof prisms. But it depends primarily on the coatings, prism (BAK 4 Vs BAK 7), objective size/magnification. A 10x50 binocular is a large/full size binocular so it will be able to acquire the light needed to compensate for a 10x magnification. These binoculars are excellent due to their full multi coated optics, phase coatings, nitrogen purged & rubber armored Chassis. To characterize a binocular of being low quality just because it is a roof prism - would not be accurate. Best Regards, DJ
