Designed specifically for the most natural color reproduction and the highest possible light transmission over the visible color spectrum, the new Peregrine from Steiner brings birds and wildlife perched in the shadows into a sharp, bright image. Phase-corrected and fully multi-coated with Steiner exclusive broadband HD (High Definition) lens coating. The optics, of course, are only top shelf, and are ground, polished and prepared for your binoculars by Steiner-Germany's master lens makers.

Steiner-Germany has developed the new Peregrine binocular, a new record in light transmission that allows faster discovery and location of birds hidden in foliage or shadows.

Since birds are often visible for only a few seconds, seeing their true colors in bright contrast and clearly identifying the most subtle color differences is extremely important.

The optics of the Peregrine measure higher in spectral light transmission across the entire visible light range, on average, than all of Steiner's closest performance competitors. This means you see colors more vibrantly and you can discover and identify species in more difficult settings and situations.
The optical glass is manufactured at Steiner's new state-of-the-art roof prism glass production facility in Bayreuth, Germany.

Focusing

The focus is Steiner's rapid close-focus system with left hand diopter adjustment. The precise central focus wheel will go from a close focus of less than 6 feet out to infinity in just one full turn. Any less - the focus would be to sensitive and not precise enough. Any more – the focus could be too slow. The focus of the Peregrine was designed to give you this perfect balance of speed and precision.

Shockproof/Waterproof

As you may already know, Steiner has been in the binocular business for over 55 years, and has developed numerous innovations which makes binoculars last longer in unfriendly conditions. Early on, Steiner pioneered the use of rubber armoring, and most recently developed a dry nitrogen purging and pressurization system that absolutely prevents binoculars from fogging internally. Steiner built this purging/pressurized dry nitrogen system into the Peregrine binoculars. They meet and exceed the US government’s waterproof /shockproof specification (Mil Std 810 E).
